Diver Propulsion Vehicle
The Fun Part
SFun? Underwater scooters (DPVs) are a kick! It’s all fun.
DPVs offer a thrilling way to see a lot of underwater territory in a brief amount of time. They scoot you through the water without kicking. Whether making a shore dive or diving from a boat, a DPV is a great way to see more and have a blast doing it.
Who should take this program?
If you’re at least 12 years old and a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or higher, you can enroll in the PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle course.
What will you learn?
The PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle course guides you in choosing the right DPV for you. You’ll make two dives and learn about:
- Maintaining your DPV.
- How to plan dives, including procedures for staying with your buddy.
- DPV-handling skills, such as making proper descents and ascents.
- Potential problems and ways to deal with them.
What scuba gear will you use?
Of course, you’ll need a DPV along with your basic scuba equipment. If you have your own DPV, your instructor will have you complete all your training using it. Ask your PADI Instructor which DPVs are available, and what other additional equipment you may need for your scuba diving exploration with a DPV.
What learning materials you will need?
Contact us to enroll in the course, pick up your Diver Propulsion Vehicle Manual and Diver Propulsion Vehicle video and start learning. By studying independently, you’re better prepared to get in the water with your instructor and start “scootering.”
