Spend more time diving and less time waiting!
The Enriched Air Nitrox Diver course is SSI’s most popular specialty scuba course. Why? Because it’s great! Scuba diving with enriched air nitrox extends your bottom times and safety margins, especially on repetitive scuba dives, while also decreasing your surface intervals compared to diving with air.Â
If you are at least 10 years old, hold an Open Water Diver certification and staying down longer and getting back in the water sooner sounds appealing, then this course is the way to go! You will learn new skills and increase your diving knowledge whilst learning how to safely plan and dive with enriched air mixtures of up to 40% oxygen.Â
This is also the course to take if you are planning on any liveaboard dive vacations for the future as the extended bottom times and decreased surface intervals really add value to your time on board.Â
Through the half day course you will learn why diving with air that has higher oxygen and lower nitrogen content gives you more bottom time, along with enriched air equipment considerations. Before getting in the water for the full experience, you will go through a combined dry academic and practical session where you will:Â
Most modern scuba equipment and dive computers can be used with enriched air, but you’ll learn to tell the differences. If you bring any of your own gear, your instructor will let you know if your gear meets manufacturer recommendations for using nitrox.Â
During the course you will also practice using oxygen analyzers and learn to identify cylinder decals to know if they can be used with enriched air.Â
You will also complete 1 scuba dive using nitrox and for this all of the basic scuba gear will be provided for you, including a weather appropriate wetsuit.Â
When you register for the course you will receive access to SSI online learning materials on Enriched Air Nitrox Diver Specialty. These combine text and video content for an optimal learning experience and can be accessed through the SSI Website/App and be downloaded for offline completion. For the best experience, please complete these before coming for the in-person session.Â
The price of the course includes:
The SSI online learning materials of the Nitrox Specialty course and the use of an oxygen analyser, a nitrox computer and the full scuba equipment required to complete the specialty dive including a scuba wetsuit. If you have any of your own gear you are welcome to bring it along to use.Â
*you only need to bring your own swimsuit to wear underneath the wetsuit and a towel for later.

Fantastic experience taking the “Try Freediving” course with Giannis. Instruction was clear, professional, well organized and fun! The shop has a great vibe, so I’m sure you will have a great experience at Amorgos Diving Center no matter what activity you select. Obviously very well-run.
Great diving Center! The team were kind, organised and they knew what they were doing! I did one dive and the experience was fantastic! The equipment is excellent and I would definitely recommend them!
Excellent diving center with a great team and also important: high quality gear! 🙂
Excellent diving center : serious, modern equipment, very nice team and thorough knowledge of Amorgos best diving spot. Giannis K and Dimitris, my freediving instructors were excellent teachers. Thanks a lot!
Amazing people, excellent staff, friendly & generally awesome! Made our experience (me wife & 9yo) on Amorgos so exciting & fun. Thanks to all the instructors & staff we had during our time – they made us all feel so welcome & cared for. Thank you, from Simon, Maddie, Libby & Teddy!
Absolutely professional diving center with multilingual crew and dive masters. Offer Freediving and Scuba. Great spots with – for Greece – a good amount of interesting fish, caves and ancient stuff like marble blocks and amphoras left over from a sunken ship.
Highly recommendable address and a must if you think about diving somewhere around Amorgos!
We offer a wide range of courses for both scuba and freediving. We are sure there is something for everyone!
