Learning to take your own underwater photos and videos is really exciting as it often makes you pay much more attention to your surroundings as you try to find what to capture. Looking through your photos and videos later is also a great way to relive the adventures you have had and gives you the ability to truly share your dives with your friends and family.
Do you find the underwater images shared online and in your dive center fascinating? Have you seen things while diving and wish you could relive the moment over and over again? Then the photo & Video Specialty is perfect for you! Underwater photography is one of the most popular diving specialties, and with so many underwater cameras to choose from, it has become easier and more fun than ever to capture images of your underwater scuba adventures. This course can set you up to use simple point-and-shoot cameras or a sophisticated dSLR like the pros, it can be tailored to what your specific photography goals are.
Underwater photography has some challenges not found on land, but with the SSI Photo & Video specialty program, you will soon learn how to capture your amazing underwater experiences. Through some academic sessions and at least 2 open water training dives under the guidance of your SSI instructor you will gain in-depth knowledge you need to dive with an underwater camera and properly use, maintain and store your equipment. More specifically you will learn to:
You will use and be provided with all the basic scuba equipment needed to complete the course, including a wetsuit. Beyond using basic scuba equipment, you’ll use a digital underwater camera and a computer or other device for downloading and viewing your images. You can also get advice for your future gear purchases and if you already have your own camera you are welcome to bring it to the lessons with you to gain more specific advice on using your personal gear.Â
When you sign up for the course you will receive access to the SSI online learning materials for the Photo & Video Specialty. These can be used through the SSI Website/App and be downloaded for offline use. The materials combine text and video content for most effective learning. You will also have an in-person academic session with your instructor to introduce you to various photography gear and make sure you are ready for the in-water sessions. Absolutely professional diving center with multilingual crew and dive masters. Offer Freediving and Scuba. Great spots with – for Greece – a good amount of interesting fish, caves and ancient stuff like marble blocks and amphoras left over from a sunken ship.
Highly recommendable address and a must if you think about diving somewhere around Amorgos!
