We regularly visit the following 10 dive sites surrounding the island. Check out their locations on our interactive map

Nikouria’s Cavern

Our own little pearl amongst our dive sites, Nikouria’s Cavern is probably the most popular one if you ask our customers!

The location is an open cavern which gives the possibility for divers of all levels to enjoy the beauty of it. When inside you will experience a true color explosion. The walls are completely covered with bright purple, red and yellow sponges, diverse corals, micro marine life and large spiral worms. On the bottom you will find a swim through, here we usually spot lobsters hiding in the wall and bigger scorpion fish.

The cavern’s shape creates a spectacular landscape towards the blueness of the open sea. On the way back, we will also explore the pockets of the wall where a huge meadow of Seagrass (indicating how clear our waters are) is home to fan mussels, nudibranchs, pipe fish and much more.

Level: From snorkelers to experienced divers.

Visibility: 100% Visibility. Rarely below 50m.

Depth: Up to 22m. The cavern is approximately 18m at the large lower entrance and 8-12 m in the top.

Currents: If any, very mild currents.

What will I see?: Every dive there’s a high chance to see Octopus, Moray eels, Sea Bass, Barracuda, DamselFish, Bream, Nudibranchs, Corals, Sponges, Shrimps and much more. If you hit the dive lottery you may see a Mediterranean Monk seal, a dolphin, passing Tuna or a Loggerhead turtle.

Deep Blue Wall

A mind blowing deep wall dive, a short boat ride away to the western tip of the Island of Nikouria and with a stunning cavern at around 25m!

The dive begins with a treat! You will spot a large ancient amphora, lying on the skirt of the wall. We believe it is a remains from one of the ships that sank during “the battle of Amorgos” in 322 BC.  The bottom depth of the wall stretches down to an approximate of 60m. giving the absolute sensation of weightlessness.

If you pay extra attention you might spot a stingray or two dancing around at the bottom of the sea or some passing barracuda and tuna. Use a light to explore the small pockets in the wall, filled with marine life. At the depth of 25 meters the wall opens up into a large but very shallow cave with high walls where divers can safely enter and enjoy the experience of it.

This dive site is a great choice if you want to have a mind blowing, deep adventure and the closest experience to skydiving you can get in the sea!

Level: For Advanced Adventure divers with deep experience, Deep Dive specialty holders or Advanced Open Water divers.

Visibility: 100% Visibility. Rarely below 50m.

Depth: From 5 to 80m +. As an SSI diving center, the max depth we will take our qualified customers is 40m.

Currents: If any, very mild currents.

What will I see?: Octopi, Moray eels, Sea Bass, Barracuda, DamselFish, Nudibranchs, Corals, Sponges, Shrimps and much more. If lucky, you may see a Mediterranean Monk seal, a dolphin, passing Tuna or a Loggerhead turtle.

Old Bauxite Mines

Under the old Bauxite Mines of Amorgos on the east side of the island, you will find a unique dive site that bears witness to the once bustling mines.

After a steep drop off there is a plateau at 18 meters where you can see parts of the equipment used to load the mined bauxite to different cargo ships. Parts of old steel wagons with their wheels still attached and pieces of the tracks on which they were pushed can be found on several points along this dive site.

Continuing to the north by keeping the reef on the left side, you will see several rock formations creating gentle slopes interspersed with dramatic walls and caverns to peek into.

This dive site is a great choice if you want to have a mind blowing, deep adventure!

Level: From snorkelers to experienced divers.

Visibility: 100% Visibility. Rarely below 50m.

Depth: From 5 to 18 meters.

Currents: If any, very mild currents.

Small Sparti Caves

A perfect dive site for any water lover! Located on the east side of the island, this dive site offers a great swim through opportunity at around 18m deep.

The colors of the various soft corals on the walls and the ceiling in combination with the rays of sunlight that reach the cavern will definitely impress even the most demanding diver. Exiting the cavern you will find on both sides a breathtaking wall with a small ledge at around 35m before another drop, this time to the infinite blue. On the face of the wall there are many overhangs and little holes to explore at various depths.

The general morphology of the area is ideal for a relaxing, slow dive in an effort to discover the little occupants hiding in the wall. The swim through is a relatively narrow passage created by fallen rocks and with the entrance at around 18m.

Grambonissi

A beautiful & colorful dive just beside the island of Nikouria, on the coasts of the tiny Grambonissi island. We always knew it was there, but two years ago we discovered the beauty it reveals under water.

For the beginning there is a beautiful lunar landscape which follows on to reveal numerous small caves, covered in corals. The arch is at the perfect depth to give new divers a special treat during their training dives. The shallow depth means the light is stunning. Schools of fish pass you by as you swim around. Plenty of Spiral worms, Octopus and Moray Eels also love the island.

For more experienced divers, there is the added bonus of a drop down to a depth of 40 m + and the pock marked wall filled with Moray eels, lobsters and Fan mussels. Around this area is where octopi and cuttlefish are also seen. Grambonissi also offers the most beautiful and colorful swim through that we have to offer, it is absolutely covered with sponges and corals!

Level: From snorkelers to experienced divers.

Visibility: 100% Visibility. Rarely below 50m.

Depth: From 3 to 60m +. As an SSI diving center, the max depth we will take our qualified customers is 40m.

Currents: If any, very mild currents.

What will I see?: Octopi, Moray eels, DamselFish, Sea Bass, Barracuda, Damsel Fish, Nudibranchs, Corals, Sponges, Shrimps and much more. If lucky, you may see a Mediterranean Monk seal, a dolphin, passing Tuna or a Loggerhead turtle.

The beautiful sandy beach of Aegiali Bay is the perfect place to enjoy your first Try Scuba experience! The calm and clear waters with a seagrass meadow and rocky reef are an excellent starting point.

The swimming pool-like conditions create a relaxing feeling making it easier to settle into the new experience of diving, or refreshing your skills. The turquoise color and the perfect visibility gives you the sensations of diving in tropical waters.

The small reef that stretches along the whole bay consists of stone and beautiful Neptune Seagrass (posidonia oceana). It offers a broad range of different marine life such as scorpion fish, John Dorys, Octopi, rainbow wrasse and Triggerfish. And the passing waves create beautiful patterns on the sand bed. We also offer night dives at the site which bring out a completely different side of the beach!

Limenaraki

A hidden bay only 5 minutes from the port of Aegiali. The site is a beautiful natural harbor with a wall dive special for its abundant fish life, especially the beautiful Damselfish, which you usually see in larger schools.

As soon as you walk in from the shore, which quite quickly drops down, or roll off the boat, the small animal life begins: spiral worms, damselfish and sea bream all around you. As you venture deeper the wall is very impressive and filled with holes and small caverns covered in sponges (especially the black sponges) and corals.
The pockets of the wall are hiding places for different micro marine life such as our favorite nudibranch Spotted Doris and spiral worms. The wall also has a stunning arched swim-through at around 10 meters deep which feeds the daylight down to you as you pass below.

Expect this to be, as we call it, a very “meditative” dive. The greatness and blueness embracing you throughout the dive, will give you a very relaxing and soothing feeling.

Level: From snorkelers to experienced divers.

Visibility: 100% Visibility. Rarely below 50m.

Depth: From the beach to 40 m. As an SSI dive center, the max depth we will take our qualified customers is 40m.

Northern Wall

A breathtaking landscape dive located “just around the corner” from our popular cavern.

This deep wall dive starts with a beautiful wall that slopes down to about 40 meters. Because of the excellent visibility, you are always able to see all the way down to the sandy bottom.
The wall is filled with pockets where you will be able to find diverse micro marine life, sponges, nudibranch and smaller fishes such as wrasse, bream & cardinal fish. The occasional large grouper can also be found hiding in the wall.

Following the wall you will find yourself at a point where the sea melts into the dramatic high slopes of Nikouria Island. Here you can take a second to admire the underwater architecture and absorb the magic of the waves breaking above you towards the stonewalls of the Island and the soothing blueness of the open sea.

Level: For all diver levels but as a deep site it is better suited to divers holding a Deep Dive specialty (full or as part of Advanced Adventurer) or an Advanced Open Water diver certification.

Visibility: 100% Visibility. Rarely below 50m.

Depth: From 18 to 40m with a stunning drop off into the blue.

Currents: If any, very mild currents.

What will I see?: Octopus, Moray eels, Sea Bass, Wrasse, Bream, Cardinal Fish, Groupers, Damselfish, Nudibranchs, Corals, Sponges and more. If lucky you may see some tuna or barracuda passing by in the big blue or maybe a Loggerhead turtle!

Agios Pavlos

Named the “Caribbean Finger” due to its shape, it’s one of the most loved beaches on the island but also a great place for snorkeling and beginner dive experiences.

In Agios Pavlos divers will have the possibility to calmly familiarize themselves with the diving equipment and the new world they just entered. The seabed is made out of layers that lower and rise up in different levels, but overall staying shallow. The site mainly consists of sandy areas and meadows of Seagrass (Posidonia Oceania), creating a very interesting landscape.

Here we usually spot cuttlefishes swimming along in groups and very curious fishes like the rainbow wrasse. The floor is dotted with very large black sponges, and other treasures like mermaid’s cups and octopus’s gardens.

Wreck – Manina 3

A fantastic wreck dive for those who long for that extra adrenaline kick, and as the best part, it is suitable for all levels of diving!

Just a one hour boat ride away, outside of the island of Kinaros, you will find the wreck of the cargo ship Manina 3. The ship sank on a foggy night in March 1981. Fortunately none of the crew got injured and managed to get back to safety.
Its overall length is 153.9 meters with a width of 19.4 meters.
The top of the ship is visible from above the water and the top deck is at a maximum depth of 15m. For those more advanced and certified, they can penetrate the cargo holds and dive down to the impressive propeller at 30+ meters.

With the time that has passed, Manina 3 has become an artificial reef, giving a new home for different fish species, sponges and corals! This is of course great news for us!

Note: The availability to dive the site is weather dependent.

Level: This site suits all diver levels and is not to be missed.

Visibility: 100% Visibility. Rarely below 50m.

Depth: From 5 meters to 40 + meters. As an SSI center we will take our divers down to max. 40m.

Currents: If any, very mild currents.

What will I see?: The wreck! And if that is not impressive enough, there is a great chance of seeing large schools of tuna and barracuda, plus enjoy the microlife which has made this beautiful wreck its home.
