Amorgos Diving Center’s staff and local people teamed up to celebrate World Oceans Day with an underwater clean-up.
We had 2 scuba diving teams and 1 freediving team to collect garbage we came across to one of our more popular beaches.
On World Oceans Day, people around our blue planet celebrated and honored our ocean, which connects us all. We all got together with our families, friends, communities, and millions of others around our blue planet to start creating a better future.
By the end of our dives we are proud to have removed over 40kilos of trash!!! Our ‘collection’ included air-condition devices, various electrical devices, micro plastics, cans, bottles, plastic bags, plastic barrels, fishing nets and even clothing and accessories such as goggles and slippers.
If we keep on working together, we can — and will — protect and restore our shared ocean.
